MATHS

We will be covering mass and capacity, fractions, time and shape this term.

ENGLISH

We will be reading different texts over this term. These include;

The Gardener by Sarah Stewart

The Incredible Book Eating Boy by Oliver Jeffers

Climate Action (a magazine article)

Star in a Jar by Sam Hay

Within these texts, we will cover a variety of writing styles, which include; writing a letter, a magazine article and a story.  The programme we follow for writing is called 'The Write Stuff'.

READING:

We will be reading a variety of texts during the Summer Term alongside our class texts. The children will have an opportunity to explore different types of books and develop a love of reading. 

PE:

We are learning ball and ball skills to build up to playing a game of rounders.

RE:

We are learning about Hinduism and Brahman.

PHSE:

We are learning all about healthy eating and staying healthy.

SCIENCE:

Building on what we have learnt in year 1 and year2, we will be learning about plants and seed dispersal.

TOPIC:

We will be finding all about Ancient Egypt, including how they wrote, what they ate and how they buried the dead.

Don't forget our Egyptian day is on 20th May! Please send your child dressed for the occasion and let us know if you would like to help out on the day.
